Hard to believe its been 9 years since Lou left his wonderful wife, Ethel, and their beautiful children and grand children. So much has happened in those 9 years but Im sure you know it all as you are certainly in heaven. I hope Robert found you and that you are still talking about your family and The United States Marine Corp. God Bless you, Lou.

We little knew that morning
That God would call your name.
In life we loved you dearly;
In death we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always by our side.
Our family chain is broken
And nothing seems the same.

Miss you Dad.

It's been so hard for me write this. Every time I look in the mirror I see my Dad's eyes. I've spent the past 10 days with my Mom crying but we also laughed alot about all the good times we had and all the memories I will always hold dear in my heart. I was always his little girl whether I was 4 or 49. I know in time this giant hole in my heart will start to heal, but I will miss my Dad forever.

Dear Aunt Ethel,

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of the love of your life Uncle Lou. My thoughts have been with you throughout the week. Please know that I enjoyed all of our time together in Arizona having BBQs at Coulter & Hummingbird with Paul and Julie and our Intel friends.

I hope you will come to see us and the 'girls' anytime you wish. We'll be here.

Love and Aloha,

Dear Mom and Dad,
I just wanted to let you know how much I love you both. You truly are like my second parents. You welcomed me into your family almost 19 years ago and have showed me nothing but love. You have raised a wonderful man that I chose to be my husband. Through your example he has become a great husband, father, and companion. You have showed us all what eternal, unconditional love is. Mom, you took such good care of Dad without complaint. I know he is so ever grateful to you. I hope you can find comfort knowing that he is resting in peace with God. I love you both and will truly miss you Dad.
Love,
Liz

Dad,

I'm not sure where I should start, so I guess the beginning is the best place. As far as I can remember you were a wonderful father to Diane, Sharon, Louis, and me. Yes, you were strict at times, but I now know why you were.

I remember you teaching me how to mow the grass, how to fix my bike, how to change the oil on a car, and many other things.

I use to love when we would go camping. I loved the time we went camping in Chincoteague, Va. and we picked mussels for hours then steamed and ate them, or caught sand sharks off of the coast.

I remember you getting me the job at the Elks lodge washing dishes in the kitchen on every Friday and Saturday night for a couple years.

You also taught me the value of a dollar, sometimes the hard way, by being yelled at for leaving the lights on when I wasn't in the room.

As I got older and got married to Liz, I could see in your eyes how proud you were. When Natalie and Katie were born, I use to love watching you hold and play with them.

I wish I could have lived closer to you for the last 15 years, but we made the best out of it, by you coming out by us, and us to Arizona.

I enjoyed taking you to the Marine Corp Museum and watching your face as we went through that, even though you were sick, you wanted to see it.

I loved coming out last April and surprising you for your 80th birthday. Now that was a surprise to everyone except Diane who kept a good secret. That was the last time I got to see you, but was excited to see you in a couple weeks when we were coming out for spring break.

When I spoke to you last week on the phone, I could tell you were tired and weak, but I knew you were a fighter, and never thought it would be the last time I would speak to you.

Over the last few days that you have been gone from us, I have confirmed something that I always knew.

If it wasn't for you Dad, I would never be the person, husband and Father that I am. I know I never got to tell you that face to face, but I will make sure I do the next time I see you on the other side. I love and miss you Dad. Rest in Peace.

Michael

As we read these beautiful tributes and look at the pictures of Lou's life, we reflect on the early years.

Lou married Robert's big sister, Ethel. Lou and Robert spent many hours talking about and reliving their days in the Marine Corps...both so proud to have been United States Marines.

Lou was a member of our wedding party and a good friend. We spent many Sunday afternoons at Lou and Ethel's.

We went on several trips together, and will never forget the laughs we had watching them "make a table" in Florida, or the hot tub in Lake Tahoe. So many good memories.

Lou had that special little smile that you can see in his photos -- a smile that could light up a room -- and a little laugh that was infectious.

Lou was a hard worker, a loving husband, and a good father. He loved his family so much and will be missed by so many.

My Uncle Lou was/is such a special guy: This is a man with an incredible smile and glimmer in his eyes at all times. I love his sense of humor and a willingness to stay positive in spite of the medical challenges in front of him. We who know/knew of him are all better people because of our relationship with my Uncle Lou.
My Aunt Ethel and Uncle Lou have a "one of kind" marriage that is forever. They took care of each and looked after each other and were each others best friends ( I am quite sure of this!). Aunt Ethel provided exceptional care to Uncle Lou ALL the time but especially in the last 2 years when his diabetes was relentless. Like him, I never heard her complain and she was always upbeat when talking to me some 6 hours and 3500 miles away. I was always left with the feeling that "Aunt Ethel has it covered and he is in the best hands possible". They are like souls and are together in spirit at all times and will be forever too.

I will miss him here on Earth with us, but I know for certain that God's face is what my Uncle Lou saw the moment his spirit and soul left our world and went into eternity with God, my Aunty Mary and my Mother and Father. My Uncle Lou demonstrated unconditional love for my entire lifetime and i will miss his voice, his eyes and his endearing love.

With eternal love and aloha,
Patti...and Jan and Maile and Sachi

Louis Presutto was a very special, brave person. As his nurse, for the past 10 months, I became close to Lou and his family. He never complained about his situation, but remained honorable and brave to the end.
Lou had a fun sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh. Ethel and I would talk, visit and laugh while I took care of his needs. I think he enjoyed that.
During one of my last visits he slept through the whole procedure. He later apologized for being rude, to me his guest. Always the gentleman even when he was sick.
One special visit Lou and Ethel reminisced about their dating years and how he "was the best thing that came into her family". Married 53 yrs. they remained devoted and in love. That was obvious.
Ethel was the wife and "nurse" any man would love to have. She would call the doctors, make appointments, dress his wounds, cook what he wanted, give him his medications and haul him off to the casino. What a woman. What an example to all of us. Thank you, Ethel.
I will miss your man.
Love to you, Kris Cooper
