Pfleger, Virginia M.
passed away March 21, 2011 in Mesa, Arizona. Virginia was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 9, 1936 and raised in the hills of the Alleghenies. She attended high school at St. Dominic Academy in Jersey City, NJ and trained to be a nurse at Holy Name Hospital. Her devotion to her husband and children was her primary role which led the family to live in all parts of the country. Finally after settling in the desert of Arizona in her later years, she took an active role in the community. She enjoyed playing cards, dance, painting, and ceramics. She especially took pride in her special relationships with her grandchildren, remembering them and talking about them almost every day. Family and the special friends she made was what made Mom. Virginia is survived by her husband Raymond; 4 children, Katherine (Samuel) Cohen, Mark (Carol Losi) Pfleger, Chuck (Melanie) Pfleger and Edmund (Karen) Pfleger; 12 grandchildren, David, Angela, Allie, Timothy, Adam, Samantha, James, Michelle, Luke, Katerina, John and Martina. Visitation to honor the life of Virginia will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Mortuary 1562 E. Baseline Rd., Mesa, AZ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Timothy's Catholic Church, 1730 W. Guadalupe Rd., Mesa, AZ 85202. Interment will follow at 2:00p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Mesa, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Queen of Heaven Mortuary.
