Lam, Joe W.
Mr. Joe W. Lam, retired optician and business owner, age 76, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday, March 12, 2011 surrounded by his sons, wife and sister-in-law. Mr. Lam was born on February 12, 1935 in China and immigrated to the United States in 1969. He worked as an optician for 28 years. He retired in 1997 and in his later years he enjoyed spending time with his family, taking walks and traveling. He especially liked family and cruise vacations. Mr. Lam was preceeded in death by his mother, Lau Poi, father, Lam Bo Kan and brother, Lam Kuen Hen. Mr. Lam is survived by his wife, Yin Tai Lam; brother, Kuen Tat Lam; son, Dr. George Lam and wife, Michele; son, Henry Lam and wife, Dana; son, Dr. Frank Lam and wife, Bonnie; grandchildren, Hayden, Reese, Ethan, Parker, Courtlyn and Harrison; nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held Monday, March 28, 2011 at 9:00 A.M. with Funeral Services at 10:00 A.M. at Greenwood Memory Lawn Serenity Chapel, 719 N. 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009. I didn't know Mr. Lam very well but I do know he raised amazing children..He had to be pretty special to do that.
