Penny Fairman Obituary

Fairman, Dr. Penny Lea
On March 20, 2011 Dr. Penny Lea Fairman, 56, of Show Low, Arizona passed on from this life. She is survived by her Father, Edward O Fairman of Forest Lakes AZ and her Brother, Jeff Fairman of Casa Grande AZ. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Phyllis Ann Fairman. Among Penny's many advanced degrees and recognitions was her PhD in Critical Care Nursing from the University of California in San Francisco. She was an accomplished academic, nurse, instructor, lecturer, administrator and banker. Penny loved and doted over her pets and through an extended illness never let many know just how it affected her public and very private life. She was an accomplished cook, quilter and genealogist. Penny lived in many places and was successful in many things. We only hope she knows how much she was loved and how much she'll be missed. A memorial celebration will held Saturday, April 2nd at 2:30 at the First Baptist Church of Pinetop, 1901 E. White Mountain Blvd., Pinetop, AZ 85935

I just learned last night of Penny's passing. She was a good friend; many an afternoon spent sitting in my SF back yard, talking about everything under the sun. I helped her to adopt her first bull terrier, Brownie. And then, just 5 short years ago, she got her first puppy, Belle. Belle now needs a home. Condolences to family and friends who are missing Penny.

Penny was my nursing school study mate during the late 1970's at Phoenix College. We both worked nights at Phoenix Baptist Hospital during nursing school. Penny moved on to California and more than 30 years later, still have fond memories of the day we both received our original RN license from the AZ State Board of Nursing. I am saddened to hear of her illnesses and passing.
