McKinney, Weston Sinclair
Our beloved Wes, 20, passed away on March 22, 2011. Born on August 11, 1990 in Phoenix, AZ, he was the older fraternal twin, by three minutes, to Cortland. Wes spent his early years in Scottsdale, AZ attending Tonalea Elementary and Supai Middle School. In 2004, the McKinneys moved to Gilbert, AZ where Wes graduated from Highland High School in 2008. He went on to attend Mesa Community College where he would have graduated with a Certificate in Welding this spring. Wes loved riding in his Nissan Xterra with the family dog, Max; camping and, most of all, hanging out with his friends and family. Weston was preceded in death by his father, Dennis D. McKinney. He is survived by his mother Sharon; brother Cortland, and his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed by all. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Saturday, March 26th and funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 27th at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ. www.greenacresmortuary.net

I have this feeling theres one more star up in the sky tonight. And even though its far away, its brightness and warmth still reach us here to make the night a little less dark.

You've been a great friend to me for the short time I've known you, Wes. Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean. George Patton once said, "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived."
You'll always be in my heart, and I will always be thankful I had the chance to know you.

I had only met Wes once, but I feel like I knew him so well - from all the stories his mom Sharon would share with me at work. Sharon always said Wes was her "mini me". I know Wes will be smiling down at his family as they remember and cherish each and every minute they had together. Please know that my family is thinking of yours at this time. My deepest condolences for your loss. Wes was a wonderful, caring, gentle indiviual who touched the lives of many people. I was blessed to have stayed in touch with Wes throughout the years. My son, who is 11 now, had a connection with Wes. His name is Conner Reed George Kaberline Thurman but only wanted to be called Wes because of the impact your son had on him over the years. Wes will be deeply missed. My prayers go out to you and your family. Dana Henderson (HHS)

Miss mckinney I am so grateful for everything you and Wes did for me when I was a kid. Yours and your son's generosity, compassion, and general love for all of whom have the pleasure of crossing life paths with you, is unsurpassed by anyone I have every met. He is a rolemodel for anyone striving to be compassionate and loyal. Having a friend like Wes was like being given your own guradian angel, he was the ground and base for most of us, with a head as level as they come. I love Wes with all of my heart, and I owe him my life in more than one way. you will be remembered eternally in out hearts an souls. My family is indebted to you and will love you forever Wes.
