Jane Finerty Obituary

Finerty, Jane
was born in Portsmouth, VA on January 19, 1951 and finished her life's journey on March 18, 2011 at the Hospice of the Valley Dobson House. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Theresa Hendrickson, and is survived by her brother Jeff, her beloved children, Kelly, Meghan, and Shane, and her equally beloved grandchildren Alexis, Michaela, and Bryson. Jane came to Arizona in the early 70s and worked as a senior medical staff coordinator at Desert Samaritan Hospital. She loved her "docs," and friends to whom she offered humor, diplomacy, and invaluable insights. Her children and grandchildren were showered with unconditional love, loyalty, laughter, and amazing displays of dignity, courage, and strength. She gave us all a living example of perseverance, and in the end, of acceptance. She did not lose her battle with cancer; she just ran out of time. She will be missed. Peace. Services will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, March 28, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1730 West Guadalupe Road, Mesa, Az.

Dear Kelly, Meghan, and Shane,
My sister Dona was your mom's best friend in high school and Jane lived with us in Tempe. Unfortunately, Jane and Dona's friendship took a back seat after marriage, children and relocation, but we always knew where we all were and knew we would get together sometime when Dona came to Phoenix. We never got to do that. We have fond memories of Jane, Jeff and her parents. Jane was a wonderful friend and we will always miss her. Our love and prayers are with you.

Kelly, Meghan and Shane,
I am so very sorry to hear of your mom's passing. The world has truly lost a beautiful person but heaven has gained a worthy angel. Your mom only knew how to extend joy in all she did. I will remember her infectous laugh and her incredible sense of humor. She had a way of helping us all not take ourselves too seriously. In all the many years I had the privilege of knowing and working with your mom she was consistent with one thing... She loved being your mom!! May your memories of her love and tenderness stay strong throughout the rest of your lives. God bless you!!

Kelly, Meghan, Shane, Alexis, Michaela and Bryson,
Your mother and grandmother touched, in a very positive way, everyone she knew in her life. She passed through this world shining, and we are all so much better for having known her. Although the time you had with her was way too short, you are so fortunate to have had her for the time that you did. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
