Colleen Mills Obituary

Mills, Colleen L.
Colleen L. Mills (nee Thompson) of Gilbert, AZ passed away March 25th in her home with her family by her side. Colleen was born in Salt Lake City on March 16th 1930 and moved to Phoenix when she was seven. She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Robert Mills and infant son Robert. She is survived by her daughters Constance L. Metzger (Michael C.), Sandra E. Gailey, son Ronald L. Mills, 15 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, brothers George Thompson, Leonard "Bud" Thompson and sister Joan Ralls. Ever the entrepreneur, Colleen ran several businesses in Phoenix during the 60's and 70's before retiring to Prescott with her husband. She and Bob traveled the State of Arizona always on the lookout for unique rocks for their lapidary hobby and other interesting items from Arizona's past. After Bob passed away, she moved back to the Valley to be in the company of her two daughters and extended family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and not too bad of a mother-in-law. Funeral services will be private. We are very appreciative of the guidance and support given by Hospice of the Valley during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate in Colleen's name to the Hospice of the Valley so that they can continue their valuable service to others.
