David Downey Obituary
David L Downey, 70, of Sun City, AZ passed away on March 24th, 2011. David was born May 17th, 1940 to Charles E. and Gwendolyn V. Downey in Champaign, Ill. David was raised in central Illinois, served honorably in the U.S. Army, and was a senior engineer with Honeywell for over 30 years. David was a member of the Sun City Prides, Scoutmaster, outdoorsman, devoted husband and family man. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Nancy E. Downey, his daughter Erin (Diral) Tyler, son James (Kim) Downey, brother Ernest (Helen) Downey of Jacksonville, Illinois, and six grandchildren. David's prominent presence and his loving generosity will be missed. A memorial service will be held at American Lutheran Church, 17200 N. Del Webb Boulevard, Sun City, AZ on March 31 at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in David's name to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, Arizona 85014.
