Marie Hammond Obituary
Marie Moles Hammond of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away March 25, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born May 26, 1926 in New Castle, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents Jess and Ethel Moles, Orville Hammond (former husband). She is survived by her three sisters Gemma Smith, IN; Maxine Thompson, AZ; Wanda Grubbs, IN; sons David Hammond (Karen), AZ; Terry Hammond (Vickie), MI; and Jon Hammond (Leslie), AZ; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marie led a full life and spent her later years traveling. She cherished being surrounded by family and friends. There was lots of laughter, fun and games. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing bridge and watching Jeopardy. She was one of the sisters in the book "The War Comes to Plum Street". A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 30th at 1:00pm at the First Christian Church, 6750 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85013. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the church in her name.

So sorry to hear of your lost. I always enjoyed your mom. She told me many jokes one to follow another, laughter, always followed. I enjoyed doing her hair, her friendship meant a lot to me.
