Patricia O'Boyle Obituary

O'Boyle, Patricia Anne
Age 82, of Flagstaff, passed away on March 27, 2011. Patricia was the daughter of Mary E Scruby Donahue and EW Donahue, born in Rapid City, SD and lived her youth in Scottsbluff and North Platte, NE. She was part of the group of volunteers welcoming the soldiers at the train station in No Platte during WW2 and worked at Hauke Drug store at the soda fountain offering comfort and fun for the soldiers headed off to war. She married one soldier, M/SGT James J. O'Boyle and continued her caring spirit through 20 years of Air Force life. During their travels, she explored culture, language and the arts and became accomplished at speaking Japanese. Always active in membership and leadership in organizations, she had roles in the NCO Wives Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, Questors and the Colonial Dames Society. At Minot AFB, ND she worked with the American Red Cross at the base hospital and organized their sponsorship of an on the job training at the base dental clinic; she trained along with the troops and became a dental assistant. She worked in Phoenix as an orthodontic assistant. As an accomplished genealogist, she published several books and helped many others get
acquainted with their past. She was the Matriarch of her neighborhood. Patricia died Sunday, at the age of 82, with the love of her family and friends present and surrounding her. She is survived by four children James, Mary, Patrick and Tim, fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren all of whom love her deeply. Many relatives value their close relationship up to and over 65 years: Aunt and Uncle, Nephew, Cousins, sisters and brothers in law. Friends and neighbors recall her sincere virtues, great story telling and listening skills. She will be missed deeply but rejoice that she will surely be blessed in heaven as she rejoins our heavenly Father and all those she has loved so well who have gone before her. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm, on Wednesday, March 30 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, with Rosary at 7 pm. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, March 31 at St. Louis the King, 4331 W. Maryland Ave., Glendale. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Avondale. Bye old friend, I'm going to miss you!

April 25, 2011

I never got to meet Pat in person, but we connected through our genealogy on the Pope line.
We corresponded on email for several years. I learned to love her quick wit, and her giving heart for everyone around her.
I will miss her dearly-my sweet email cousin

Angel of Death
Strong and mighty he emerged they call him the Angel of Death.
He reached out his mighty arms.
He stood there beside her bed this majestic beautiful Angel with a heavenly glow.
A face so handsome and body of perfect mold his eyes looking right in to hers his power over powering hers.
She trembles in his presence but peacefully surrender her soul.
He calls to her to rest in his arms, tender hands lifting her soul; a light shines brightly, brighter than a star.
Her guardian Angel so full of light so radiant his face such pure beauty for her to see as she close her eyes and sleep.
While saints look down from heaven she will make this journey through the stars in his arms.
Buried as a mortal, that will decay; now just bones in a coffin her Earthly shell will lay.
her soul has been taken by the Angel of Death today.
She feels sudden warmth pulling her spirit upwards, lifting her soul to the bright soft white clouds.
As she leave her Earthly bond her soul will shed tears and rain upon the Earth torrential flooding rains
The rain will fall upon the Earth's soft soil,
Washing away all signs of her past toil than will come the calm the sun will shine again.
she feels no fear but more at peace as her soul swiftly sails through the universe Absorbing energy from the stars.
she hears songs of Angels harmoniously moving on the journey and vibrant gleams of colours flash across cosmic embrace.
Her soul has been taken by the Angel of Death today.

Rest in peace my dear friend
I will miss and think of you often
Yours in Genealogy, your Australian Friend Rod

Even though we met just once she made me feel like I was part of her own family. Through emails, cards (many cleverly handcrafted)and phone calls we stayed in touch. I have a beautiful passion flower planted in my yard- a house warming gift from Pat. She was a beautiful person inside and out and is deeply missed.

My Darling Dearest,
Of all the years and all the tears and the fabulous memories we shared my absolute favorite will always be "The cold chicken leg." You're nonchalant toss into the bushes will stay with me forever...I'm sure your in heaven chuckling as I recall this memory again. Everyone knows you were my favorite person in this whole wide world and will stay in that sacred corner of my heart forever. You're light will never diminish in my life and I promise to love my grandbabies (when they come) as much as you have loved me and will pass on the fondest memories we shared and make new ones for them to pass on to their grandbabies....You are and will always remain my very bestest friend and most cherished grandmama! Say hello to grandpa Jim and great grandma Mary and great grandpa Red for me....Hope to see you sooner rather than later but the luck o the Irish says I gotta wait my turn!! Love you me darlin' forever and ever with a kiss and a peck and a hug around the neck!!
