Rita Newman Obituary
Rita B. Newman, 76 of Phoenix, AZ Passed away peacefully on March 28, 2011. She was born on January 19, 1934, in Tempe, to Oliver L. and Laura M. (nee Waddell) Rawls. Rita met and married her beloved husband of 59 years, Jackie D. Newman, whom survives her, along with their one son Daniel D. Newman and three daughters Sherrill L. Newman, Janet M. (William) Bridges and Deborah D. (Sam) Salazar; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and one sister Virginia Brown. Rita is preceded in death by both her parents, three brothers, Irish, Nathan, and Guy and one sister Lyla. Rita was employed with Revlon in Phoenix for 21 years before her retirement. Rita loved her family very much; she will be forever loved and missed by all. Visitation will be from 5-8PM, Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Green Acres Glendale Mortuary, 5830 W. Missouri Ave., Glendale, AZ, and where the Funeral Service will be
held at 11:00AM, Friday, April 1, 2011. Interment to follow at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix, AZ. Please visit Rita's memorial at www.greenacresglendalemort.com

My Grandma was the kindest, most loving and non-judgemental person I ever met. She was beautiful. I made many mistakes in my life yet I never felt anything but joy and love in her voice and in her eyes when she talked to me. I wasn't some trouble maker- I was loved by her no matter what. We all lost someone special, but we also know that she is up in Heaven looking down on us, maybe cracking a few jokes. She believed in God and found solace in Him and wanted nothing less for those she loved.

To All of the Family, I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Rita's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her. She always made smile and laugh like crazy. I told my Mother who is 98, about Rita's passing and she ask me to pass along her condolences as well. She had great memories of Rita, too. All my girls said to tell each and everyone of you that their thoughts and prayers are with you all. Remember I love you all.
