Charles Ball Obituary
78 of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on March 29, 2011. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Word of Life Lutheran Church, 17525 W. Bell Rd., Surprise, Arizona. Menke Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Now that I am into my 70's I miss even more Charlies joy in life. Never anything but a smile as we worked thorough tough projects. A great coworker and better friend.

We met Charlie and his wife Joan two years ago and were immediately impressed with their friendliness and have thoroughly enjoyed our brief encounters. We will never play Mexican Train without thinking of Charlie! Our sincere condolences to Joan and their family. We know he will be deeply missed.

Charlie and I first met in August 1965 as Peace Corps Volunteers assigned to The Republic of Guinea, West Africa. I have so many fond memories of my good friend during our Peace Corps experience and in the years following. His smile, laughter, and that certain 'twinkle' in his eyes will be missed by all of us who loved him. It was a priviledge to know Charlie and call him my friend.
