Carter, Floyd Daniel "Dan"
Dan Carter, 67, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2011. Dan was born on Sept. 22, in Linesville, Pa., to Fred D. and Olivia Timbers Carter and later moved to Jamestown, New York. He is a graduate of Linesville High School and attended the College of the Scriptures in Louisville, Ky., before serving two years in the United States Army. In 1968 he married Cathy Johnson and in 1973 they settled in Arizona. To their union were born two children, a daughter Joy and son Jason. Dan loved his family and the outdoors. He had an adventurous spirit and loved exploring the country. He built homes in New York and Arizona and worked at Honeywell Bull. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Olivia Carter and sister Pauline Darby. He is survived by his wife Cathy, daughter Joy (Brett), son Jason, sisters Violet Alexander of Greenville, Pa., Betty Lattimore of Williamsville, N.Y. and Shirley Dickey of Tucson; brothers Fred Carter of Jamestown, N.Y., Hays Carter of Phoenix, William Stanley Carter of Linesville, Pa. and Carl Thomas Carter of Jamestown, N.Y. Services will be held Saturday at Shadow Mountain Mortuary, 2350 E. Greenway Road in Phx.
