Gene Fioramonti Obituary

Fioramonti, Gene
81, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2011. Born in Melrose Park, IL, Gene moved to Arizona in 1989. Gene was the devoted husband of Karen, loving father of Cynthia, Nancy (Rick), Jill (Larry), Bradley (Lisa), and Scott, grandfather of eight, and great-grandfather of eight, adored brother to six , and loving uncle and friend to so many. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Phyllis. Gene loved making music, making biscotti, and making all those around him feel loved. Gene lived to golf and is no doubt on the first tee in heaven. Memorial service will be held in the Chicago area later this summer. Special thanks to the angels at Hospice of Arizona. I cant believe youve been gone for 8 years! Not a day goes by without something reminding me of youa Sinatra song, a golf game on tv, a cement truck, anything Italian! Miss and love you.

To our Dearest Uncle Gene (aka Gene, Gene the dancing machine). Our hearts are broken but we know you will be in heaven waiting for us with a big tray of biscottis (you did make the best!). You always made us feel special and made us laugh until we cried. We feel very blessed for the short time we were able to spend with you. We will miss you but you will always be in our hearts.

Love always,

Kevin, Debbie and Chloie

We love you Dad!

Karen,
we were so blessed to have been able to be with Dad before he left us. I will miss hearing his voice on the phone, his perfect handwriting on all the cards he sent us, baking great things with him, even if we DID destroy the kitchen :), and of course, his beautiful face and his young-at heart spirit. I am so glad I got to golf with him in December- that is a day I will always cherish. Larry & I are glad, too, that we were able to spend time with you after he passed. He will never really be gone in our hearts.
All our love,
Larry & Jill

Karen,

We are sorry to learn of Gene's passing. It seems like yesterday we were all so young and healthy. I remember an Arizona Private School Association golf outing and we needed a fourth player. I remember saying, "Let's see if Gene is available. It's our only chance of winning." He did play and of course scored low, but the rest of us didn't!!! He was an amazing golfer. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

He is not only my dad; he's my hero. He taught me to love unconditionally, laugh unabashedly, and live joyously. I'll never forget when we were shopping at Madigan's in Winston Plaza with my mom. When Gene and I got bored, he decided to turn right everytime the store bell rang. We practically walked the entire store, running into fixtures and bumping into people, laughing until our sides hurt.

We never got the chance to golf together but we had the Redwoods. I will remember the kind, loving man who loved his family and was so proud of Karen. An Italian through and through who loved his heritage and never forgot where he came from. And man, could he cook. So long friend, you were so loved!
