Janey Hensley Obituary
Betty Jane Hensley passed away March 30, 2011. She was born July 11, 1923 in El Reno, OK to Crystal & Robert "Bob" W. Birlew. She was the oldest of 4 children & graduated from El Reno High School. Janey married Lee Hensley in 1946. They moved to CA in 1946 and then settled in AZ in 1978. Janey was a homemaker & worked with Lee in the family owned business. They retired in 1997 & enjoyed living life to the fullest ever since. Janey is survived by her life & soulmate of 65 years, Lee Hensley; 2 sons Dana Lee (Theresa) Hensley of Lodi, CA and Tommy Joe (Valerie) Muir of Mesa, AZ; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, brother Bill Birlew of El Reno, OK and sister Marilyn Goodman of Minneapolis, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Ruth Taylor. Visitation will be Monday, April 4, 2011 from 1-3pm at Heritage Funeral Chapel 6830 W. Thunderbird Rd. Peoria with services to follow at 3pm. Burial will be at Buena Vista Cemetery in El Reno, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St. Phoenix, AZ 85014.

I lost my very dear friend. She was (and still is) very special, because she is the one who taught me what it's like to be myself, she helped me discover myself.
She always asked how she was lucky enough to have friends like us. In truth we are the lucky ones. Having her in our lives made the world a much better place. I will miss you Janey you are one of a kind!

Janey, you always told it how it was and never pulled any punches. I will always remember us riding our horses together and how we enjoyed it so, and our talks over the back fence. You are probably up there riding Fanny already. :) Roz
