Larry Wright Obituary

Wright, Larry S.
Larry S. Wright of Gold Canyon, Arizona passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011. He was born December 31, 1926 in Haigler, Nebraska to Jesse and Martha Wright. He graduated from Chillocothe Missouri High School and joined the U.S. Naval Air Corps in 1943. After WWII he attended the University of Missouri and graduated with a degree in civil engineering. He then moved to Kansas City and began a thirty year career in the highway construction industry. In 1993 he moved to Phoenix, Arizona and began a second career as project engineer for Pinal County and retired in 2007. He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years Janice Boyd Wright, his second wife of 12 years Mary Louise Wright, and three siblings, Alice Peterson, Ted Wright and Bill Wright. He is survived by his son Steve Wright and wife Mollie; daughter Mardi Speer and husband Charlie; son Scott Wright and wife Kandi; step children Candice Young and Ron, Jim and Curt Aikin; 7 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Scott O. Wright and Jesse Wright. There will be a private interment in Kansas City. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 2415 S. 47th St. Temple, Texas 76504, the Ronald McDonald House Charities, or the charity of your choice.
