James Sorensen Obituary

Sorensen, James Harold
loving father, beloved son, and brother, passed away March 24, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. The youngest of five children, Jim was born in Cornwall, NY to Bert Leno and Dorothy Mae (Bonner) Sorensen May 9, 1964. Jim married Marie A Bowie in Lake Havasu City December 3, 1994. Their union brought forth two sons, Korbin James and Luke Steven. His sons were the moon and stars to him. Jim loved the outdoors and was especially at home in water. He excelled at all pursuits he chose to undertake. Jim's passion, as a Master Diver, was exploring underwater in the sea and lakes. He felt lucky to have been able to live throughout the United States, Canada, and Panama. Among his opportunities as a Boy Scout, he was able to paddle the Panama Canal in a kayak and attend a National Jamboree. Jim experienced cliff diving, skydiving and deep sea diving. His excursions and adventures are too many to name. Good friends, loyalty to friends and family were important to Jim. Preceded in death, was his father Bert Leno Sorensen. His dear and magnificent sons, Korbin and Luke survive him. Jim is also survived by his mother Dorothy Sorensen, Cedar City, UT; one brother, David (Paula), Pasco WA; and three sisters, Debra (Bill) Levy, Rochester NY; Judy (Ulf) Hammar, Grillby Sweden; and Joan (Russ) Taylor Cedar City UT; many nieces and nephews, and Joe Gutierrez, who was like a brother. We love you Jim, and we will miss you. Services will be held in Cedar City, UT. Thoughts and condolences can be sent to Jim's family at www.lietz-frazefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
