We were so surprised & sad to find out about Tim’s death. We have taken our cars to Tim for many years and always liked & trusted him. We are so sorry for Chill and the rest of his family. We were reading all the wonderful comments about Tim on this site and see that Tim was loved & respected by so many people. We felt the same way about Tim & our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. We will miss Tim and we hope that Chill will carry on his dad’s good work at the shop.

Tim, your Memorial Mass in Pearland, TX was beautiful, local relatives and friends were there to honor you. I know you are now with our mom and dad and I will join you when it is my time. Then no one will be able to keep the four of us apart, we will be a family again. Always missed, always loved. Your sister, Judy.

WE were shocked to hear about Tim"s death,I don"t even remember when we first had him do our work, probably soon after he opened his garage,we had a cousin live right across it,and this cousin recommended him,as a fair guy, and Tim was. Tim always seem to be upbeat and happy whenever we saw him. We drive past his shop 2 or3 times a week and think of him; now we"ll remember him and all of you,his family. God bless and comfort you all.

I have been honored to know Tim in the automotive industry if only for a few short years. (7)yrs.. Tim never treated me as if I was just a driver, even though that is how I started out at my company. Tim always did all my work on my vehicles. I was able to enjoy the racing events several times as well. He was exceptionally kind, honest and funny and will be so missed. May he find peace in heaven, and his family be able to reflect on what a wonderful man and true inspiration Tim was. Thanks Tim for everything you ever did for me. May you rest in peace. :*( Angie, John, Andy, and Will

Tim was my second father to me. He raised me and helped create the man I am today. I owe him my life in many ways. Dawn, Chill, and Tim always made me feel welcome and that I was part of the family. My regret is that I was not able to come by more when I moved. Every saturday with tim was special to me. He embraced my son alex and accepted him to the family. I love Tim and will Miss him very much. I pray he will always be here somehow.

The flowers on the fence at Tim's garage was quite a shock. We didn't know Tim was sick. We are so sorry. My father, Ray Phillips, took us to Tim for our auto needs. My dad liked, trusted and respected Tim and so did we. My dad has been gone 20 years now and I know that dad was there to meet Tim when he arrived in heaven. We moved to Tucson so we haven't seen Tim in a while, but we will miss his smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Tim, and with your family.

Reading all these comments leaves little for me to say except Tim was honest, respected and loved. What a legacy to leave for his family. We should remember Tim for these qualities and strive to imitate them.
Remember that smile.
May the Creator bless and keep you well.

I have fond memories of Tim--mostly known to me as Chill's dad--ever since I was in grade school. He had cool toys such as motorcycles and old cars. Growing up, I always remember him taking time from his busy life to take us (me and Chill) to Firebird Lake, the desert to shoot guns, the movies, up north to gramma's cabin, World of Wheels to show his truck and many, more things. He was busy, but never too busy for us.
He truly loved his family and friends and they reciprocated his love. You set an excellent example to me and others to emulate. You will be missed by many! --Glenn Echeverri and Family

The measure of a man's life is not in the number of years he has lived, but in the number of people who will miss him when he is gone. There are sure to be many who will miss Tim.

Oh my gosh - where do we begin! Scardino's has worked on our vehicles for many many years. Tim has cussed all of them at one time or another but always had a smile when we walked through the door. We will all miss his sense of humor and that smile we loved to see. We were saddened to hear of his illness and were sending many prayers his way; however, God obviously had other challenges for him and decided he needed him more than all of us. We will miss Tim very very much and our hearts go out to all his family.

Our wife’s (Betty and Dawn) worked together at Motorola met Tim he was working at JC Penney’s Auto Shop. We became very good friends. We went camping and dirt bike riding with all our families at Blue Ridge and Dawn’s Dad made the whole crew breakfast every morning that was so good .Then the Rangers shut us down, We were running over the bugs or something like that can not ride here no more. it was fun while it lasted also rode in Yuma .I got the word that Tim wanted his own shop and was looking for a lot to build his shop I found the lot that the shop is on Tim and his Father in law(Lou) did a good job of building this shop.
Dawn, Chill and all Tim’s family we are so sorry,
We will miss Tim very much he always touch our hearts

Oh my..... the news of Tim's passing staggered me and I feel deeply for the family. I first met Tim in 1973 where I was hired to do housekeeping (cleaning) after school at J.C.P Automotive Center at Christown. Life seemed simpler then and Tim accepted my friendship and I his. Tim mentored me in the art of twisting wrenches and understanding automobiles and the people who owned them. Tim was the same at work as he was at home, a quality that I like in people as being honestly themselves. I enjoyed the company of the Scardino's in their home, at a car show, out for a Saturday night, or rebuilding a Chevy small block in Tim's garage. Truely he is going to be someone I miss.....you meet a lot of people in your life, but very few do you fondly, gently remember...and how sad his loss is to us all.

As Tim's sister Judy, I and all his Houston family and friends are heartbroken at the loss of Tim. He was a great brother from childhool to adulthood. He always loved working on cars with our dad. I will forever love and miss my little brother Tim; Chill, Chrissy, Camden and Chace, your Houston family is always here for you. Tim is at peace with God and his loving parents and suffering no more. God Bless You, Tim.

Tim was a great guy and the Toon family already misses him so much! So many years of memories, my head swims thinking of them. Watching him ride dirt bikes, playing poker on Thanksgiving, playing volleyball and horseshoes in our backyard and sitting around the campfire telling stories are just a few. My most recent excitement was on March 16, when he blurted out "Hi Diana" from his hospital bed. I will miss his calls asking me to go on the internet to look something up for him or make a purchase for him. He was always there when we needed a vehicle repaired and he was a mechanic everyone could trust. Most of all, he loved his family. Dawn, Chill, Chrissy and boys - our deepest sympathy for your loss. You all meant the world to Tim. May he rest in peace and may God comfort you.

TIM WAS THE BEST CAR MECHANIC WE HAVE EVER KNOWN; BUT MORE THAN THAT -- HE WAS AN HONEST MAN. HIS INTEGRITY AND LOVE OF HIS FAMILY WAS SHOWN EVERY DAY OF HIS LIFE -- EVEN TO ENJOYING HIS LUNCH/POKER WITH HIS FELLOW EMPLOYEES!!
GOD BLESS YOU TIM AND YOUR FAMILY UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

I have been a business associate of Tim's for over 20 years.
Tim was always a pleasure to deal with and always had a good attitude, even when things didn't go as planned.
He will be missed by all of us here at the store.
May God bless all of the Scardino's in their time of grief.

It is with great sadness that I write these thoughts. Tim and I served together in the Phillipines, Vietnam and at Luke along with many other guys. We shared a common passion for racing and it was great times we had. While in the Phillipines and Vietnam we were assigned to either the 8th or 13th Bomb Squadrens, about 15 years ago an Association was formed to bring together as many as possible to share the old times and rekindle those friendships. We named it the "B-57 Bummers Association, BLMF". As President of that Association I want to also extend our sympathy to Dawn, Chill and the extended family. Great memories, sad it had to end the way it did. I am sorry I cannot be there to Salute Tim for the last time. Tom Barker
