Jack was easily the most vibrant face I saw at church every morning during the years I lived in Cave Creek. We became instant friends and shared many long-winded and delightful conversations over brunch or in the aisles of Basha's supermarket. I could never ignore an opportunity to indulge my heart in his colorful stories and wise words. Even after I moved to Kansas City we continued to speak over the phone for the first few years until life got the better of both of us and led us into other spaces. I will say this: No place or space is as brilliant and lovely without him. May we all now live and rest in peace. He was a treasure.

All the Mirans share the sadness with the Breen family, and we are likewise grateful for Jack's life. We shared some very formative years together, and in our memories we will always be that young, and our parnets will always be that wise, witty, or giving.

April 7, 2011

My family was fortunate to have known Jack for over forty years, as a friend & neighbor, from PA to AZ. Blessed with a beautiful and loving family, Jack softly spoke with pride of Sean, Mike, Tim, Kevin, Cathy, and of each grandchild. This devout, gentle man left a kind impression on those who knew him. He will be missed. The Dickinson's and the Hunt's send their condolences. With heartfelt sympathy,
