Marlene Fischer Obituary

Fischer, Marlene "Marti"
Passed away peacefully on April 3, 2011 at age 69 with her husband, son and future daughter-in-law by her side. Marti had a wry sense of humor, including a fondness for jewelry with unprintable expressions. She was a beloved wife, mother, and knitting instructor. Marti had a quick smile and made friends easily, be it with out-of-town visitors to the Scottsdale Historical Museum, the 2:15 group at SHC Cardiac Rehab, or angry police attack dogs. Born in Ohio, Marti fell in love with Arizona when she moved here in 1969. Her husband Mark dragged her briefly back to Cleveland after their marriage in 1970. Forgoing grounds for annulment, she brought him to his senses and they returned to Arizona for good with their son Greg in 1973. Marti did many things in a varied career, but nothing was more important to her than her family and the people she met in her many Arizona adventures. She genuinely cared about others and will be missed. No services are scheduled at this time. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.

Marti will truly be missed! Her wit, life experience, and entertaining stories have been a staple in both my professional and personal life, and I have learned an abundance from her! Marti knew everything about everything, and she was always a resource to anyone who knew her or sought out information. She was a truly unique individual, and the world is at a loss without her presence. I offer my condolences to the Fischer family, and Marti along with her family will continue to remain in my thoughts and prayers.
