Esta Hapip Obituary

Hapip, Esta Webb
passed away in Tempe, Arizona on April 2, 2011. Born in Lexington, Kentucky on March 8, 1917, Esta graduated from what is now Western Kentucky University with a dual major in French/Latin and taught in several schools in Kentucky and Ohio. During World War II she was a classified records manager for the DuPont Company as part of the overall Manhattan Project. In 1950 Esta married Fred Hapip and they farmed in the Williston, North Dakota area until their retirement to Scottsdale in 1975. They had a very happy retirement life enjoying friends, bridge, travel and their summer home in Payson. She became a resident of Friendship Village in Tempe in 2001. Esta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred, son Robert, one sister and one brother. She is survived by her son Gary (Kathy) Hapip and daughter-in-law Anne Hapip; granddaughters Carrie Binder, Sara Hapip (Ian Twombly) and Amy Hapip; great-grandsons Matthew Binder and Charlie Hapip. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 9th at 10:30 a.m. at the Skirm Auditorium at Friendship Village, 2645 E. Southern Avenue, Tempe,
AZ 85282. Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Village Foundation, c/o Friendship Village. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
