Janet Mahoney Obituary
85, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on April 3, 2011. Janet was born in Erie, PA on June 3, 1925 to Frances and Carl Rosequist. She married John Mahoney on June 3, 1946 and they moved to Phoenix in 1959. Janet raised seven children and was always very active in her church. Janet loved music, playing piano and singing throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and is survived by her brother, Robert Rosequist. She is also survived by her children: Linda Mahoney, Carol Mahoney, Gary Mahoney, John Mahoney, Joy Staab, Faith Pourkaveh, and Jill Mahoney, as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetary, 401 N. Hayden Road in Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.

I'll always remember the Mahoney family as one of the nicest families I have ever met. I was always amazed at all the fun you had at your house and I enjoyed being a part of it growing up. I'll never forget seeing you all around the neighborhood and especially your dad in his Ford Ranchero. I could never get used to everyone calling my friend John "Mickey" but certainly understand being named after my father also. Your mom always had a smile and good word for the whole neighborhood and I will always remember that.
