78 of Phoenix, AZ passed away on April 4, 2011. She is survived by her husband George, sons Patrick, Jeff and grandchildren Syrena, Mari, Lorena, Alexandra, Andrew and 3 great grandchildren. She was a life member of VFW's Ladies Auxilliary Post 8015. Visitation is 5pm to 8pm Sunday April 10 at Resthaven Park Mortuary, 4310 E Southern Ave. Phx, AZ. Graveside Service 1pm, April 11, 2011 at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 4310 E Southern Ave. Phx, AZ.

Hello Mom, Today is Veteran's Day and as I spent the day remembering all the time Patrick and I spent and enjoyed in our Air Force career, I thought of how proud you were to be a member of the American Legion. With dad having served in the Navy and both Jeff and my Patrick in the Air force, I know that you are proud as a peacock today. Well this salute to all the members of the Armed forces, both past and present, and their families is for you mom. And one ,out of respect, to you. The first time I remember meeting Shirley I made a sandwich for her at the Last Outpost. She first asked if we had mayo and I said yes. After she bit into the sandwich she let me know that Miracle Whip was not the same thing as mayo! Dee and I had many good times with Shirley and George after that. Shirley will be missed. The world lost a beautiful woman when Shirley passed away, it was an honor to have been her daughter-in-law for the last 35 years. I am thankful for the opportunity to have called her mom. Also to have been blessed with Patrick as my husband, Syrena and Mari as my daughters, and Ms. Elizabeth as her G.G. called her. I will cherish her heritage forever. Good-bye mom I Love You...
