Huntenburg, Rosemary A. "Roe"
76 of Glendale left on her final journey to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in Hospice of the Valley of Kidney Failure. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, November 17, 1934 to John & Jenny Mastascusa. Her mother, Jenny, died in childbirth. She grew up in Watertown, New York and graduated High School in 1953. Her first employment was as a telephone Switchboard Operator for New York Bell. Roe and Bill were married on February 5, 1955 in Watertown. Thanks to Bill's military career Roe moved our household no less than fourteen times before finally settling in Glendale in 1984. Roe was mostly a "Stay at Home Mom" during our son Matt's growing up. She also worked as a telephone operator at numerous telephone companies, and ended her working life as a pharmacy assistant at K-Mart, retiring in 1999 Soon after coming to Glendale Bill & Roe became very involved in a jeep club, and discovered a passion for touring in their motorhome. Jeeping in Colorado became a regular summer event for over twenty-five years. Roe is survived by her devoted husband, Bill; beloved son, Matthew, (Traci); older sister, Marie (Richard); grandchildren Garrett (15) and Emily (11); and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, an older brother, Joey; and an older sister, Yolanda. A memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of Saint John the Baptist, Saturday March 30 at 3:00 P.M. where she was a member. Her ashes have been interred at the National Memorial Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to the American Kidney Foundation. Special thanks to all Hospice of the Valley personnel.
