Opal Lindstrom Obituary

Lindstrom, Opal Fern
89, of Mesa, AZ. passed away on March 28, 2011 while in the care of Hospice of the Valley. Born Dec. 24, 1921 to Ross and Maude Woodcock in Earlville, IL. Opal was blessed with a Permanent Christmas sparkle in her eyes. Opal was married to Leslie Lindstrom (deceased, Oct. 2005) for 63 years. They retired to Mesa, AZ. in 1981 from Peoria, IL. where she was active in the Emblem Club for many years. They became involved members of Velda Rose United Methodist Church after moving to AZ. They resided in Sunland Village East as well as Leisure World, summering in Show Low, before moving to Merrill Gardens in later years. Opal is survived by her sister Pauline (Don) McCulley, niece Monica (Bart) McFarlane, nephew Rawley (Sandy) McCulley, and grand nephews Josh (Leah) McCulley and Brian (Diana) McFarlane. I remember when Aunt Opal came over to Sandy and Rawley's for a holiday event. She had a big beautiful smile on her face and shook my hand. This was the first time I met her. She was a warm-hearted and thoughtful person. I know she will be missed.
