Richard DeCato Obituary

DeCato, Richard L. M.D.
born March 2, 1933 in Saybrook Township, OH, to Dr. Alfred A. DeCato and Justine Waddell DeCato, passed away April 2, 2011. Richard graduated from Gilmore Academy, Gates Mills, OH, in 1951, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, in 1955 and Jefferson Medical University, Philadelphia, PA, in 1960. He completed his internship at St. Luke's Hospital, Cleveland, OH, in 1961 and his urologic residency at the Cleveland Clinic in 1965. Richard practiced urology in Ashtabula until relocating with his family to Phoenix, AZ in 1969 and practiced medicine in the Phoenix area until recently. Richard is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kristine Natvig DeCato, children Carlin DeCato Rao (Ramana) and their children Layla and Jaden of San Francisco, CA, Lauren Lee DeCato Marsh and her children Dylan and Whitney of Dana Point, CA, Nicole DeCato Guarracino (Antonio) of Laguna Niguel, CA, and Kevin Richard DeCato (Leslie) and their children Anthony and Gino of Dana Point, CA, and their mother Patricia F. Hummel, of San Luis Obispo, CA. He is also survived by his brother Alfred R. DeCato, M.D. of Ashtabula, OH and his four children and his sister Charlene Lash of Erie, CO and her two children. Services will be private. The family welcomes donations to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014, so that other families and their
loved ones may be made more comfortable and receive support in this most distressing of times. The family welcomes on line condolences at http://memorial.decato.org/
