Evelyn Burns Obituary
92, passed away on Apr 10, 2011 while in the wonderful care of Encore Senior Village, Peoria. She was born in Pleasanton, TX Aug 2, 1918. She graduated high school at 16 and completed a 2-year business school when she met and married Harold W. Burns in 1937. Navy life moved them to many places in the US before settling in Phoenix in 1945. Evelyn was an active volunteer at Orangewood Presbyterian Church, Hancock Lodge, and Beatitudes Campus of Care. An avid bridge player and joke teller, she loved entertaining, watching ASU football games and spending summers in northern Arizona. Evelyn is survived by her son Fred and daughter-in-law Maria of Phx, her daughter Karen of Tucson, 5 grandchildren and 3 1/2 great grandchildren. All of whom she gave the gift of love, care, loyalty, encouragement, and laughter. Private remembrance of her life will be celebrated by immediate family.
