Kimberly Kempton Obituary

Kempton, Kimberly Kay
of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away recently after a two year illness at the age of 48. She was the beloved daughter of Valerie Kempton and the late Calvin Kempton. She is survived by her mother, her brother Greg Kempton and wife Lori, brother Rick Kempton and three nieces, Jennifer, Jessica and Jamie Kempton. She worked in Information Technology with her latest employment being at City of Tempe. She will be missed by her family whom she loved very much and her friends, including her online friends with whom she had many late night visits. Her passion was animals, most especially cats. She was a volunteer for AZCats, (now Altered Tails) and participated in trapping, neutering and release. Her heart was so big that she kept the feral cats that couldn't be adopted and domesticated them herself. Private services will be held later in the week. Donations may be made to Altered Tails or an animal rescue of your choice. Messinger Indian School Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Oh Kim, I cannot believe you are gone. The Rainbow Bridge was waiting for you and in my mind, I can see all the cats greeting you with joy as you give them their turn to cross over. You were a blessing on our earth. Val

Kim and I had several home rooms together at Tonalea elementary school, and I was in Biology with her at Coronado. I'm sorry that we didn't keep in contact - I haven't seen her since graduation, though I have thought of her from time to time. I am shocked and saddened by this news.

Much love to Valerie and the family. You are all in my thoughts often. My cats and I miss Kim's visits, her fabulous advice, and her constant "cheerleading." She was a lifter of spirits.

I have many fond memories of the fun times I shared with Kim and her family. From the hours spent at their cabin learning every word to the GREASE soundtrack to the running back and forth between our houses all summer long!!!! My heart and prayers go out to her wonderful family. Please know that Kim will always be remembered fondly. Remembering our childhood days puts a smile on my face! She will be greatly missed.
