Rusty Rapp Obituary

Rapp, Rusty
Rusty Rapp, 59, of Phoenix, AZ, left this earthly plane on April 9, 2011. Rusty arrived in Arizona in 1972 from his hometown of Ironton, OH to escape the grey skies. He met his wife of almost 36 years, Ruth, in 1974. Rusty spent 23 years as a custom wood worker for Meyer & Lundahl Mfg. Over the years, he made many beautiful wood creations for friends and family. Rusty loved this world and all of the crazy people in it. He had a smile and an attitude that could light up a room, and always did. Rusty implemented a practical spirituality into his everyday life. He was an inspiration, and he will continue to be. He embraced the spiritual life as well as the insane. A light has gone out in this world, but shines on - you crazy diamond!! He is survived by his loving wife Ruth Rapp, their children Rachel (Justin) Musgrove, Kali Rapp, and his granddaughter, Olivia Lynn. He also leaves behind his sister, Kathy (Harry) Tompkins, brothers, Danny, Tim and Larry Rapp- as well as many nieces and nephews and a large extended family of friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 16th at 11 AM at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd. in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to AA, the Arizona Humane Society, or a charity of your choice. www.ALMoore-Grimshaw.com

To Ruth & family: I worked with Rusty for many years & will dearly miss him forever. He always had a smile & a hug for me whenever I saw him, covered with sawdust or not! He had such a great sense of humor, never said an unkind word & was truly a memorable human being. He left us way too early but will always be remembered.

My brother Pete and I were with Rusty when he met Ruth. She was baking gingerbread and it was love at first sight!! Ruth, you kept Rusty grounded, he helped you soar. He had a permanent smile and a laugh that was contagious. He's finally painless and home. We were all blessed with him. Our hearts are with all of you.
