Olga M.K. Scherr of Scottsdale, AZ passed away peacefully at home on April 6th. 2011. Olga was born on November 10, 1929 in Baltimore MD to Samuel Jenny Bressler. She married Jerome Kandel in Baltimore and they have two sons, Bernard Kandel of Scottsdale and Alan Kandel of Fresno, CA. Olga's sons, her daughter-in-law Evelyn and grandson, Keith Kandel of Fresno, were very precious to her. She earned a PhD while raising her sons and was a practicing Psychologist for many years. She still has many relatives and friends living in the Baltimore area. Olga took a leap of faith in the 1980s and moved to Scottsdale to marry Dr. Merle S. Scherr. After Dr. Scherr's passing she retired from private practice and channeled her energies into developing lasting relationships with her many friends, who are left to mourn her passing. When she shared her stories and experiences with you, she always made you laugh. When the new millennium dawned, Olga began her education to become a Docent at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Her passion and enthusiasm for her volunteer work was evident in the knowledge she shared with the many patrons of the Museum. In lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial contribution to: Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014 or to the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, 7380 E. 2nd Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85251 Attn: Alex Parker. To Olga's immediate family, her extended family and to her dearest friends (you know who you are) "L'Chaim" and "Shalom." A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
