61, passed away April 10, 2011 in Surprise, AZ with her daughter Shellie & brother Aaron at her side. Born in Des Moines IA; accomplished Chef/Restaurant manager; she left behind a husband, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, grandchildren & a mother, (a great grandchild on the way) She will be remembered "Fawnie" always caring & helpful, "Ruhlet" fun loving, mischievous & happy. After struggling with breast cancer, with chemo & Christian Scientist medications along with Lakota sweat lodge body cleaning, she survived 14 years in the final stage. She is going home to green grass, trees & rivers (Iowa) Life gives back love many times over. Family ask donations be made to Desert School Federal Credit Union/Fawnie Christensen Memorial Acct. P.O. Steven, Even though Fawnie and I met on the computer a few years ago, it was a pleasure to finally meet her in person this past July. She fought a long hard battle but God saw how tired she was and decided it was time to bring her home to His loving arms and end her pain. The world is surely a sadder place without her in it. She will be missed. I will keep both you and Fawnie in my prayers and candles. Love hugs and butterfly kisses,

Steven, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Fawnie is going to be missed by many others, also. She was a person who enjoyed life and was such a fine friend. Everytime I have a Tenderloin w/everything, I'll raise it to her. Thankfully, she made it back here last summer, for a visit. I'm going to miss her a lot.
