Andrew Adcock Obituary

Adcock, Andrew B. (Pop)
Andy was born on May 8, 1922 in Quail, Texas to Andrew and Hazel Adcock. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on April 10, 2011 after battling heart disease for many years. Andy was a WWII Veteran having served in the Philippines and Japan. He moved from Amarillo, Texas in 1968 to Mesa, Arizona. His life was filled with many wonderful experiences; he was one in a million! Pop cherished his family and was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Wilma D. Adcock. He will be missed dearly by all that knew him and is survived by his loving wife, Mary Francis, son Jim Adcock (Francene), daughter Judy Thompson (Gary), and stepdaughter Karen Delyea (Wayne). Grandchildren Tim Adcock (Marcella), Tiffani Johansen (Tom), Cortney Pellettieri (Mike), Chuck Hughes (Stacey), Gayle Keeley (Brendan), Kristin Jaworski, Melissa Williams (Shawn). I am young man that lived near Andy a good friend of Andy and a kid wanting to know about his life. I was always fascinated in knowing about peoples lives and what they went through. Andy had more life experiences that I could possibly comprehend. I mean he had been to a lot of places Good and Bad in his life he had many jobs and he was so smart. I always would come around while exercising to see if I could talk to Him and Andy would never shoo me away, that I also really liked. I just knew him as a Man Good at Heart and Extremely Understanding of others without knowing them much of a attribute dictating a very wise man which he was indeed. And I did ask him a lot of times I met him down the street from my house like how do you live life and how to live it to the fullest. He told me many things I will never forget about living a prosperous life. Andy was actually my best 'mentor and buddy" I have yet to experience in my whole life.

Words are hard to come by, but bear with me because whatever I write is from my heart.
Many years ago, I was lucky enough to have this beautiful friend come into my life. Andy's daughter Judy! With that meeting I had the honor of meeting her entire family. And what a warm welcome I have had since. Pops was this truly amazing man. I used to tell Judy she was so blessed to call him Dad.
He made me laugh so many times...especially at birthdays, holidays etc. Pops had this incredible zest for life and he lived life to the fullest. His love for his family was always apparent and he was so proud of all of them.
I will miss his hugs, his smile and his warmth but I know heaven just got another angel.
To Judy, Jimmy and the entire family, I offer my deepest condolences and I hope you know how much each and everyone of you mean to me. And thank you so much for allowing me to be a little part of Pop's life, these are memories I will cherish forever.
Sincerely and with much love,

Pop... I took my first steps into your loving arms and I'm so grateful to have spent your last day wrapped in mine. You will live in my heart and memories until we are all together again. We are all at peace knowing that you have been reunited with those that passed before you and will be waiting for the rest of us to join. Next to my own father, your son, you are the greatest and most talented man I have ever known. You will be forever loved, forever missed and forever cherished. I love you Pop! Your loving granddaughter, Tiffani

Dear Jim... It's been many years since we worked together at Hermetic Refrigeration; so long you probably don't remember me. I'll never forget how nice a guy you are, and the great boss you were. That learned behavior is usually passed down from our dads and moms... so although I don't remember ever meeting your "Pop" he surely must have been a fabulous guy judging from what I remember about you... his son. Please accept and pass my heart felt condolences on to your family for what must be a huge loss judging from Judy's and other's comments read in your dads guest book. BTW... it may help you recall me as I was Jim and Louise Simon's nephew at the time. Most sincerely, Jerry Slonsky.

Andy, We love you so much and know you are so peaceful and happy now watching over us all! I love you for the grandfather you have been to me and the love you always showed my whole family. No greater gift could you have given than your love and support and the dear husband you were to Granny. We will miss you but yet know that another day, we will hug and laugh together again. Much love forever, Mel

How blessed I am to be part of this family. From the beginning of my life, to have spent time learning so much, laughing a lifetime with the most loving Grandparents anyone could ask for. I cherish my family, never taking for granted the time I have spent with any of you. We are saddened by our loss but grateful for the time we have had and anxious for future memories ~ love you all.

My dear Daddy. There are no words to describe the man you were and the legacy you leave behind. Your smile is infectious, your zest for life admired, your abilility to do anything made us always call for Pop and your unwavering love for family made us all who we are today. No dad could ever compare to the love and tenderness you showed me or those you loved. I so admire the man you are and only hope I can and have lived up to your expectations. I can't imagine life without you but know you are in a better place now with Mom watching over all of us! Enjoy you journey Daddy, you always have, and I know we will see one another again one day. Your loving daughter, Judy
