Louie Darnell Obituary

Darnell, Louie Wayne
January 1, 1947 to April 11, 2011. Louie, or "Wayne" Darnell, as most people knew him, left this world at the age of 64. Wayne was a loving, kind-hearted man that would put other's needs above his own. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his Prescott getaway, riding his Harley-Davidson with his buddies, and golfing. He was loved and respected by those he worked with in the roofing industry. He spoiled his wife, children, and grandchildren with much love and affection. He was very protective of his family, especially his younger sisters Teresa Pickett, Joy Wood, and Marti Garcia. Wayne is preceded in death by his loving parents Louie and Gladys Darnell. He leaves behind his wife, Cherylle Darnell, his son Todd Odell, his daughter Staci Valverde, and his six wonderful grandchildren, Brandi, Danielle, Tamara, Todd James (TJ), Madisyn, and Brooklynn. Although his death is untimely, he leaves behind a legacy that those who knew and loved him will never forget. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2:00pm at Best Funeral Services 9380 W. Peoria Avenue, Peoria, AZ 85345.

I will miss my father very much. He was a great dad to my brother and I, and an even more amazing grandfather to my nieces, my nephew, and to my girls. I just hope that I can pass along my father's legacy to them.

My dad loved his family with all his heart and he would always show it, even as stubborn as he was.

We feel so very blessed for everyone's kind words and wonderful support. Thank you to everyone!!! My mother, my brother, and I truly appreciate it.

I feel so sad for Sherri, Staci, Todd and the rest of Wayne's family for their loss. Everyone that knew him will miss his friendship or love or humor and the smile he almost always had on his face along with his big heart.

Many of us can count on one hand the number of really great close friends that they have had in life. Wayne was one of them to me. Wayne and I have been friends going back over 40 years. In the early years we did a lot of hunting and fishing together along with more than our share of partying. After my kids were born he was always a great Uncle Wayne to them.

I just heard of his passing on 4/25 so I wasn't able to be at the services or his memorial. I feel so bad that I had not seen him in over a year but he will always be one of the best friends I ever had and I will miss just know he was there.

Sherri, please let me know if I can help in anyway.

The service for Wayne made it obvious that he was loved by his family and friends. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet him. He made you feel like an old friend even if you weren't.
Cheri, not a day goes by that I don't think of you and your family, and I pray for you to be able to heal. God be with you and your family.

My Uncle Wayne was very special to me. I love him and miss him greatly. He was always so funny and caring. He enjoyed talking to Ben about their motorcycles and we even got a chance to ride with him a couple of weeks ago.I love you Aunt Cheri and Staci and will be here if you need anything! Uncle Wayne...I will think of you everyday and how much you meant to me.

Saturday's memorial to my brother in-law Wayne was a gret send off. Many of his close friends, his family and those he had touch or met in his life were there to say their good byes and share some real close moments. My daughter Nichole and soon to be her husband Jarron were very close to her uncle Wayne. Wayne thought alot about Jarron and I know Jarron will miss him alot too. My grandson Jaymen Mcclain will miss him dearly because Wayne saw him grow up from the time he was a little baby and they both shared a lot of special moments when Jaymen was growing up. Wayne was always teasing him but he loved him very much. Wayne would be proud to see Jaymen all dressed up and looking as handsome as Wayne looked in a suit and tie to say goodbye. We all loved him and will miss him dearly. All our love goes to Cherry, Staci, Todd, Bryan, Madison and Booklyn. Wayne will always be there to watch over us and you.

Wayne was my brother in-law who was as close as any of my brothers. I married into the family in 1972 and we were always very close. He was always making us laugh and made us all feel very special in his life. My other brother in-laws and myself got to play one last round of golf and that will be one moment we will always remember. He won of course. Words aren't enough to express how close a family we were when he was around. We all spend a lot of special times in Prescott, playing golf, sharing a beer or watching the deer and javelina around camp. Marti, the kids and myself will always have a special place in our hearts and minds for Wayne and Cherry. He may have left us suddenly, but he left us with a lot of memories we will always remember. Love you always brother Wayne.

I'm going to miss you buddy, there was not one time that you did not make all of us laugh. I never heard an unkind word come from you. When you showed up we all said "alright".
Rare these days to have all that personality.
Rest in peace my friend.

Stacey and family - sometimes there just are not enough words to express to a family when they have lost a loved one. Speaking from someone who lost their father at a young age, time and God will heal all pain, and hold close to your heart all the years of memories you have made!! May God Bless you and hold your family close in your time of need! I know I speak for many when I say.. your dance family loves you!!

i will never stop missing him. I have never felt so welcome into a home as I was when I moved next to this couple. The love they showed for each other every day was so wounderful to watch. God watch over Cherry. She will be so lost for a time without this wounderful man at her side. I am so greatful to have known this man and his wounderful family. God bless you all.
