James Mooney Obituary
James I. Mooney Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2011. Jim was born on June 24, 1938 in Rochester, N.Y. to Dr. James I. and Genevieve Mooney. He now joins them and his wife Kathy in Heaven. He was a great husband, father, grandfather (Poppy) and friend. Jim loved life and he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his three children, Laura Senger (Jimmy), Jim Mooney (Christy), Kelli Moore (John), his six grandchildren (Matthew, Sean, Katie, Reagan, Tommy and Brynn), and his siblings, Rie Rague, Joyce Considine (John) Thomas Mooney (Norma) and John Mooney (Katie). Jim enjoyed running and hiking. He ran 11 marathons and hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim in one day. He was an avid reader, loved debating politics, and he enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events. He graduated from Aquinas Institute and Lemoyne College. Jim lived in Rochester, New York until 1979, when he moved his family to Scottsdale, Arizona. Jim was loved by many and will be deeply missed. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 18th, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Rochester, N.Y. Arrangements by Messinger Indian School Mortuary, Scottsdale, AZ

Hey Moon, hard to believe eight years have shot by. Bob Torrey with you now, rog in a nursing home in Mendon, Carl retired in Fl, jameson still in Dallas. We could be having some wild political discussions. Happy to report I am still hiking the Crack. To the Rim!

Jim, ran the good race, and kept the faith. "Jacket" Jim and his entire family were like family to all of us River Rats. Memories like these live forever in my heart. God Bless Tommy, Johnny, Rie and Joyce. My prayers are with you all.
