Onie Anderson Obituary

Anderson, Onie Arleen
90 of Phoenix, Az. passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2011 of complications from Malignant Melanoma. Onie was born in Artesian South Dakata weighing only 2 pounds and was raised by her grandmother. Onie lived most of her life in her favorite city, Phoenix. She is survived by one son and four daughters. One son died during child hood. Onie is Grandmother to ten- Great Grandmother to fourteen - and Great - Great Grandmother to six. Her proudest moments were watching her family as they graduated, married and became the adults that she knew they would become. Onie retired from Arizona State Highway Dept. and spent many hours afterwards volunteering at the Phoenix public Library and at Good Samaritan Hospital. Other than her family, her greatest loves were reading, playing scrabble, her kitty, and her numerous friends at Deck Park Apartments in Phoenix. Her family would like to thank Emeritus Assisted Living and Serenity Hospice for the care and love they gave mom during the last two months of her long and full life. At Onie's request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to Best Friends Animal Society 5001 Angel Canyon Rd. Kanab, Utah 84741 Where Onie monetarily supported many cats and dogs over the years.
