Joseph Harris Obituary

Harris, Joseph Dr.
was born the 2nd day of December 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland and passed away on the 14th day of April 2011 in Chandler, Arizona. He is remembered as a loving father and for his wonderful, witty sense of humor, his zest for life, incredible desire for learning, and his curiosity of all things - but particularly science. Dr. Harris held both a MS & PhD in Neurochemistry. He spent a lifetime teaching & researching at the John Hopkins School of Medicine, and the Arizona State University Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. He was also a fellow of the New York Academy of Science. Dr. Harris is preceded in death by his wife; Irene Dorothy, his brother; Edward, and both of his parents. He is survived by his brother; Paul (Joan), two sons; Donald Jeffrey (Holly), and Mark L. (Kathryn), and two grandchildren; Sharon and Taylor. A Memorial Service will be held at Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Rd in Tempe, Arizona on April 20th, 2011 beginning at 10:00am. Dr. Harris will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix on April 21st, 2011. Arrangements are being held under the direction of Carr Tenney Mortuary in Tempe.
