Bud I only found out about your passing today. I am still in shock as are my daughters who you took such an interest in during our matches. What you did for local tennis will never be forgotten. I am very thankful for our last phone call a few months ago as your thoughts about how you felt about the guys you coached came through clearly. I know we all owe you a great thanks for what you did for of us. On the bright side, at least now I won"t have to hear that God forsaken Oklahoma fight song anymore although I do feel for everyone in heaven who now will have to hear it.
Bud, you were my friend and always will be.

Bud, Indeed, you had a passion for the game! I remember back to the days when you would were playing with an enthusiastic, competitive spirit. And when you had to lay down the rackets, you still lived and loved the game through organizing some of the best action on the courts in which we took part. I really enjoyed playing for and against your teams. We had a blast, didn't we? And, I trust you will be on the courts in the hearts of all your friends... RIP....Ed Pickens

God Speed Bud...You left your mark here in Phoenix forever.

What great memories you've left in your wake, as evidenced by the heartfelt messages in this guest book. The long rides to California, the competitions, the jokes, the pups... I guess God needed a tennis player/ coach on his ethereal team. God speed, Bud.

Bud Peddicord, you left a legacy that will never be matched in Phoenix USTA tennis. You made a difference in so many people's lives. Some were a bit miffed with your competitive ways but establishing a winning formula tends to bring on controversy. I am proud you included me in some of your "moments" and created many positive experiences for me and many of my tennis buddies. As mentioned in another tribute, you were a crafty tennis player who would figure out how to win, much like how you captained a team:-) Enjoy all your dogs in Heaven and reserve a court for me would you?

April 19, 2011

Bud, many years ago you started me in the USTA leagues. I learned much by watching you yield your captaining skills. You were 'the master'!
Thank you, Bud.

bud , i have nothing but wonderful memories of you as my tennis coach, but also a dear friend for many years. Your contribution to the usta tennis community is immeasurable and probably never matched in my lifetime. You truly loved tennis, ohio state and all those dogs that you saved from being put down. You had a great heart and and loved this sport more than any man that i ever known. and a competitive spirit which inspired alot of us to excel at what we loved.Im proud of all the great moments at sectionals and nationals and the friendships that we made while we were there. No captain in the usta will ever achieve your greatness as a friend and a teacher on the court, you taught me to be humble a good loser and a gentleman off the court, i love you bud...larry d sims (rest in gods peace).

Bud, thanks for all the good times on USTA teams. You kept us all happy, and that took some special kind of person. I know how tough being a Captain is, but you did it better than any of us.
Some may not know, but you were a very underated player when I first came to Phoenix, you found a way to beat players consistently with just being a competitor and outsmarting them. You and Clarence were the first players I met here and you guys helped me meet the tennis community. Those afternoons at the TC were the best thanks to you! Rest in Peace.

Bud, You are a legend at the phoenix tennis center. I played on as many national teams with you as anyone. and you were one hell of a captain. Your strategy in turning in a line card was like watching a championship chess match. The ride was always filled with excitement that will never be forgotten. In my book the Tennis Gods have a new Captain. God bless...Chuck
