86, of Gold Canyon, AZ passed away on March 18, 2011. With everlasting love we thank God for Themio "Pete" Plakos who passed from this life into eternity with his blessed Saviour on March 18, 2011. Born in 1925 in Christopher, Illinois, he served in the United States Navy and graduated from Wabash College, Indiana. He married the love of his life, Shirley Eileen Saari in 1949 and together they raised their four children while he pursued his vocation in sales and marketing. After retirement he and Shirley relocated to Gold Canyon, AZ where they enjoyed their mountain views and traveling in their motor home with his beloved dog, Zoni. An avid lover of music, Pete enjoyed singing, playing the piano and violin and was a member of the Silver Strings Orchestra. Pete was a member of the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church, where he participated in the choir, the Discipleship Ministry and eagerly helped in planting the seeds of the Living Water United Methodist Church. Those who knew Pete will remember him for his deep faith, generosity, sincere love of people and life, and his keen sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley, sons Andrew, David (Theresa,) daughters Rebecca (Wendell Hill) and Rachel (Mark Stoddard), as well as 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Ellen, sister-in-law Lezley and 2 nieces along with their extended families. In lieu of a service the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a future date. Those who wish to remember Pete are invited to make a donation to Banner Hospice or to a charity of their choice in his memory. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!
