Saller, Doris Anne (Walter)
Doris Anne (Walter) Saller passed away on Feb. 13, 2011 after a brief and sudden illness. Doris was born in Altoona, PA on Dec. 7, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Saller, who died on Mar. 16, 1985. She married Jim, a soon-to-be career Air Force Officer, on July 7, 1956. After his retirement in 1972, they lived in the Chambersburg, PA area until 2009 when Doris moved to Mesa, AZ to be closer to her children. She is survived by her older brother, Daniel Walter, of Altoona, PA and four children: sons Stephen A. Saller and wife Pam of San Jose, CA and Eric R. Saller and wife Karen of Scottsdale, AZ; daughters Gretchen S. Bender (Saller) and husband Klaus of Mesa, AZ and Heidi A. Saller of Scottsdale, AZ; eight grandchildren: Veronica (Saller) Groubert of Waukesha, WI, Brennan Saller of Scottsdale, AZ, Calvin Saller of Mesa, AZ, and Daniel Saller of Scottsdale, AZ, and Stephen Saller II and Rachel Saller of San Jose, CA and Nadine and Eli Judy of Scottsdale, AZ; and two great-grandchildren: Maddie Jo Groubert of Waukesha, WI and Stephen Saller III ("Junior") of San Jose, CA. She truly loved life, especially her husband Jim and being the wife of a serviceman. She loved to travel and had the opportunity to live in a number of locations including CA, WY, TX, GA, NC and the Philippine Islands. After nearly 26 years of being a widow, she was finally laid to rest beside her true love Jim in Corpus Christi Catholic Cemetery in Chambersburg, PA. We will all miss her.
