Charles Patrick "Chip" Carbone

Charles Carbone Obituary

Carbone, Charles Patrick "Chip"
Chip Carbone, 58, died after a brief illness on April 13, 2011. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Jo. Family and friends as well as Chip's trusty dog Lefty were at his side in celebration of his remarkable life. Chip was a nationally-recognized health services consultant, Harley rider, and an accomplished guitar player and song writer. Chip was the leader of Mercer's Government Human Services Consulting Group in Atlanta. He was a graduate of North Dakota State University, a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and held a financial planning certificate from Florida State University. Chip is also survived by step mother, Margaret Carbone of DeWitt, MI, sisters, Pat Carbone of Stafford, VA, and Robin Carbone of Austin, TX, step brothers Mike Carbone (Terry) of Moorhead, MN, and David George of Ann Arbor, MI, brother-in-law Brian Miller (Marsha) of Minneapolis MN, sister-in-law Karen Waters (Arlan) of Detroit Lakes, MN, eight nephews, two nieces, three grand-nieces, six grand-nephews plus a host of other family and dear friends. He was predeceased by his mother Susan Evans Carbone, his father Dr. Hubert A. Carbone, his brother Paul Carbone, his father-in-law Charles V. Miller and his mother-in-law Maxine B. Miller. Chip was an exceptional person… acknowledged by his clients and colleagues as a brilliant leader, by his family and friends as generous, kind and with an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on, by his dog as a soft touch, and by every casino as the lucky guy they most wanted to see coming in the door. He leaves a legacy of a life well lived…competent, compassionate, honest, generous, kind, loyal, intuitive, and fun. We can honor him by being kind and helpful to one another. Donations in his memory can be sent to www.guitarsforvets.org or your local Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. I'm so saddened by this news. I met Chip the first day of 5th grade, and we were friends from the first, and remained so all the way through high school. I was looking forward to catching up with him at our 40th reunion this summer. My deepest condolences to his family.
