Rayna Andrews Obituary

Andrews, Rayna
On the morning of Tuesday, April 12, 2011, Rayna Marie Andrews, 31, died in her home, the result of a severe asthma attack. Rayna was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on January 12, 1980, the only child of Gilbert Andrews and Judy (Osen) Andrews. She grew up in Flagstaff and the Phoenix area and attended Paradise Valley High School. Rayna was kind, loving and generous. Animals of all kinds readily recognized that she was their special type of person, and she was always ready to save any that came her way with tender care and affection. She loved music, fashion, and movies, everything from "Harry Potter" to "Gone With The Wind." She was an avid reader with many interests, from novels to literature and history, and most recently anything about childcare and parenting. She also enjoyed reading the Bible and was a lifelong seeker of spiritual truth. Although she was interested in the teachings of all faiths, her belief in Christianity was very important to her. Rayna was a very sensitive person, gifted with an extraordinary amount of empathy and compassion for others, regardless of their background, beliefs or status. She truly lived the Christian precepts of unconditional love. More than anything, Rayna loved her son, Aaron Michael Andrews, born almost a year ago in May 2010. At the time of her death, she was working hard at being the best mother possible to Aaron and was looking forward to a bright future with her family. In addition to her son, Rayna leaves behind her loving father, Gilbert Andrews (stepmother Linda Peterson Andrews) and paternal grandmother, Barbara Deblock. Her mother, Judy Andrews; maternal grandmother, Harriet Osen; aunt, Kathy Carpenter (uncle Jim Carpenter); and uncle, Craig Osen, also survive. Rayna is also mourned by her dear friend and Aaron's namesake, Michael Swiger; and Aaron's father, Caleb Feldkamp, and his family; plus many other friends and relatives. She will also be missed by her cats, Bobbie, Jeffrey, and Frances. Her grandfathers, Burell Osen and Calvin Andrews, and beloved cousin, Ivy Carpenter, predeceased her. A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 7:00pm at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W. Bethany Home Rd., Phoenix. All are welcome to join us as we say goodbye for now to our beautiful angel, Rayna Marie Andrews.
