Gordon Bonine Obituary

Bonine, Gordon B. "Bud"
84, passed away February 13th, 2011 just twenty days shy of his 85th birthday. Bud, as he preferred to be called was born March 5th, 1926 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Gordon & Mabel Bonine. Bud has one brother, Donald who everyone knows as Red. Health issues brought the family to Arizona where Bud met and married, as he put it "The prettiest girl in town" Dorma Mae Lattimore. Bud & Dorma have three children two sons, Wade & Chad, and a daughter Paula. Bud was a graduate of ASU with a masters in psychology. He also served his country in the US Navy as a medic during World War II. Bud donated his time to the Arizona Sheriff's Department's Drowning Victims Recovery Dive Team. He was a skilled scuba diver and assisted in many drowning recoveries. Bud also spent his personal time contributing to the charitable work of the Sisters of Notre Dame. Sister Janice Bohn and Bud became close friends. And his favorite outing was their trips to Mexico to help the needs of the less fortunate there. Bud chose sales and management for his professional life. He was a recognized expert in the automotive industry where he dedicated over 30 years of his life. In later years, he partnered with his son Wade and found great success in real estate and investing. Bud had many interests and one of his greatest loves is the outdoors. As a boy growing up in Wisconsin he would spend endless hours hunting and fishing with uncles and his brother Red. Once in Arizona his passion continued with his new hunting buddies, sons Wade & Chad. Bud was an accomplished sportsman and achieved the lofty award known as "The Arizona Big 10" which was a collection of Arizona's ten most difficult animals to attain. Bud became an expert in firearms and a marksman with a rifle or pistol. Bud is survived by his three children Wade, Chad, and Paula, his grandchildren Adam & Andrea, and his brother Red. Bud will be loved and missed by us all. Family and friends join us to celebrate Bud's life on Saturday, April 30th, 2011 from noon to 4pm at Bobby-Q in the Q-Lounge at 8501 N 27th Avenue. Bud was a treasure and a wonderful friend. I remember him back in his days at Coulter Cadillac. We had such fun on trips to Mission Beach in San Diego. He even provided a Cadillac limousine for my wedding in 1983. Such great memories of a truly great guy!

I remember the picnic tables "Mr. Bonine" and my dad build in our yard, the times we all went to the shooting range and years later, visiting with him at work. He always had a smile and a laugh for me.

To all of the Bonine Family from the entire Seeber family. Our deepest sympathies are with you at this time. We all have many memories of our families being together. The last time we were all with Bud was at Jordan's Restaurant on Dad's birthday several years ago. It was such a pleasure to see Bud and Dad together sharing old memories of fishing, hunting, scuba diving, cars, early Phoenix and their families, all the things that they both loved. Please know you have all been in our thoughts and prayers since his passing.

I have fond memories of Bud (Mr. Bonine) & my dad, always going out shooting & jeeping in the desert,( and chewing tobacco) I remember some of the projects they did together, working on a old jeep and the picnic tables they built.

Bud was a fine, fine man and a good friend; the kind of friend you didn't have to see or talk to every day do know the friendship remained intact. My recollection is thst we first met more than 40 years ago and hit it off from day 1. He certainly served his family, his community, and his country in extraordinary fashion.

We could all use a lot more Buds in our lives.
