Robert Earl Obituary

Earl, Robert "Bob"
Robert "Bob" Earl of Scottsdale, AZ, was born April 30, 1932 in Mitchell, South Dakota. On April 18, 2011 he died after a short battle with cancer. Bob leaves behind his wife Jane of 54 years, daughters Cindy & Jennifer, son Gary, daughter-in-law Jen, grandsons Justin & Jack, sister Fran Bigelow and many caring nieces and nephews and their families. Bob was a proud veteran who served his country in the Korean War. He enjoyed traveling, music (especially the Bee Gees), Janie's chocolate chip cookies, but most of all he loved his family. Bob will be greatly missed by all and a celebration of life will be held in California for his many friends and extended family. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be sent in memory of Bob to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.

Still missing you Bob. I can still hear your laugh. I smile when I look at the photo of you playing the Stump Fiddle, barefooted no less! That was the only time I saw you barefooted. I miss sending you articles from emails and newspaper, and that you enjoyed helping me put jigsaw puzzles together. I miss all the good times, travels, great food and the many laughs we had together, but how blessed I am, and I thank God I have those special memories and can share them with you Jane, my dear long time friend and your beautiful family.

My dearest brother-in-law. Oh how we will miss you. Always looked forward to us being together. Met you 57 years ago and can still remember peaking out the window to try and catch a glimpse of you and Janie on the front porch kissing. The time I slid down that great big hill on a piece of cardboard at the park and was too scared to walk back up so you came down and helped me. So many of life's snapshots to remember and through them all I always knew you loved me and I hope you knew how much I loved you. As life moved on, like it always does, I was so touched by your new found gentle ways and soft spoken words. The time we spent together on our RV trip and the many pictures we have is something we will always cherish. In the end all that any of us can give to one another are memories. Having known you most of my life I have many and they will forever be imprinted on my heart and within my soul. I will miss you so very much. No need to worry about Janie. Now that you're gone she will be permanently on my watch!

Our dear friend Bob, oh how I am missing you. But, my heart knows you are in a far better place. It must have been a wonderful reunion to see other loved ones that were there to greet you. I know Dan was one of them. I am glad you got to meet Don. He too thought you were a terrific guy. Happy memories, lots of laughs, and a blessed friendship with you and Jane will forever remain in my heart. Love, Jo

I remember my Uncle Bob as being a great person...As a y oung kid I remember him at family gatherings always being fun loving and especially nice to me...As an adult, and thinking of marriage, I always held Uncle Bob abd Aunt Jane as role models.. They certainly met my expectations of going down that long road together....That in itself will be one of my memories of Uncle Bob.....While over the years our large families moved distances apart....it does not change this fact. It is in times such as this that the thoughts and memories invade your mind and bring joy to your heart......Peace and love to you Aunt Jane.....CIndy and sons, Gary and wife and Jennifer....Diane, and the entire Shupe family.......

To Bob on what would have been his 79th birthday: God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered "come with me". With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you fade away, although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, laying loving hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes the best. Author Unknown

These are a few of the things that touched my heart about Bob. I knew he loved you Jane, by the twinkle in his eye when he walked into a room and saw you. How he loved his life and family because of the stories he told in the most kind, funny and soft way he told them. Even though I didnt know him well, I will treasure the moments I did get to spend with him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time and always......
