Alma Gutierrez Obituary
80, of Tolleson & Chandler, AZ passed away on April 14, 2011. Alma was an Arizona State University Graduate in 1953. She was a school teacher for 48 years, teaching at Judson School for Boys, Parker Elementary School and a dedicated 46 years at Tolleson Elementary School. She was named Teacher of the Year three separate years. Alma was also a Girls Softball and Volleyball Coach, VFW Woman of the Year, an accomplished pianist and music teacher, Blessed Sacrament Church organist and youth leader, and a Girl Scout leader for several years. She is survived by 3 Daughters: Gianne "Gigi", Gloria, and Geri;
2 Sisters: Pearl Estrella, Henrietta Cordova; 1 Brother:
Richard Amador; and 4 Grandchildren: Karly (14), Dylan (10), Lindsey (7), and Sam (6). Funeral Service will be Thursday, April 28, 2011 - All are welcome. Viewing at 2:00 p.m., Service at 2:30 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church - 16223 South 48th St., Phoenix, AZ 85048. "Fond Farewell" reception immediately following memorial service.

Dear Gutierrez Girls & family, we are very sorry to hear the passing of your mother, Mrs. Gutierrez as she was fondly known to so many of her students. I remember her with alot of forging ahead, strength and the good will spirit in her teachings. She was full of gusto and always had the best laugh. Your mom was also a wonderful family friend to both of my parents. My father also sends his condolences the family, for his first "maestra del estados unidos" and has great memories of your mother and father. I will always remember the Gutierrez family and the festivities at your beautiful home in Tolleson. Your mother was a beautiful woman as are all her children. Blessings to you all.
