Meyer, Joanne Jean
Joanne Jean Meyer passed away peacefully, at age 71, on Monday, April 19, 2011 at Horseshoe Assisted Living Home in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Joanne was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves her son, Joseph E. Meyer, Jr. (Lisa); her daughter, Pamela Nied (Daniel); her daughter, Susan D'Angelo; her son, Ricky Meyer (Rehka); 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many friends. Joanne is predeceased by her husband, Joseph E Meyer, Sr. who passed away in December, 2010, and her granddaughter, Lindsey Rae Nied who passed away in November, 1996. Born on September 23, 1939 in Dubuque, Iowa, Joanne was one of nine children raised by Emmett and Hannah Koerperich. She met her life-long love, Joseph, through a mutual friend and they wedded on July 14, 1959. In 1971 Joanne and Joe, along with their four children moved to Rockford, IL where she took great pride in raising her children and one of her granddaughters, Kristina. Joanne and Joe celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July 2009 shortly after having moved to Scottsdale in April, 2009. Those who knew Joanne appreciated her gregarious personality, witty sense of humor and her love for music and singing. She is loved and will be missed greatly. A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, April 25, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Scottsdale.
