Edd Austerman Obituary

Austerman, Edd
Edd Austerman, 82, was born June 22, 1928, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He went to be with his Lord on April 18, 2011. Edd is survived by his beloved wife, Jan, his furry and feathered "kids", and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Jan White, and their kids, Mike and Vicki. Edd served in the US Army, and during the Korean War, in the US Air Force. His military years were some of the happiest of his life. He had a great love for antique airplanes, motorcycles, and antique cars. He had many friends and seldom met a stranger. Edd was always ready with a smile, a laugh, and a story for whoever would listen. He will be remembered and greatly missed. Services to be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, 5105 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:18 a.m. with service to follow. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be on Monday, May 2, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at the National Cemetery. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, a donation to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Rd. Kanab, Utah 84741. www.ALMoore-Grimshaw.com

Edd, was surely "A special person" to us. I could still hear his Happy voice, sharing a story and his memories. We loved to see him coming down the street in his bike, or driving by and honking yelling out the window at us. Our comment was always "Good Ole Edd". You will be truely missed neighbor and friend. Thanks for the memories.

Jan, As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may the pain of your loss lighten and the joy of your memories deepen.

Edd,

The heavens just got a little brighter and a lot more lively. Kirby and I both enjoyed all the stories and laughs you and Jan shared with us over the years and we will most definitely miss you.

Edd,

You and Jan were my favorite customers at 5th Ave. I loved listening to you guys talk about your lives. I always thought of you guys as my non-biological grandparents. I am sure that you're at peace now.

Jan, Edd was an amazing person and he will live forever in our thoughts. He will be missed.

Edd, you will be missed and times will be difficult without you. I will celebrate and treasure all the wonderful family times we had together. I will remember your smile, your laugh and your wonderful stories. I was so happy when you and Jan decided to move to Phoenix from Oklahoma and we had the family together again. I will take good care of Jan and help with your furry and feathered "kids".

You used to say "tell the kids about me" and believe me I will make sure that future generations to come will know about you and your wonderful stories.

I know you are with our Lord and are preparing a place for us all in the future. I always thought of you as a big brother and not a brother-in-law.

Love your sister,

Jan
