Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Harville family at this time. Sam Harville will always be remembered as a happy, loving and generous man!
In 1969 he was awarded WWII Overseas Cross of Military Service by the United Daughters of the Confederacy on the record of his ancestor, Robert Collingworth Hooten. Sam accepted and wore his Cross of Military Service with pride and affection.
Sam Harville was also the recipient of a Purple Heart during his service to our country in WWII .
Both Sam and Margaret donated years of time and service to the UDC and to the Children of the Confederacy here in Arizona. They were also committed to serving Veterans. Their commitment to service others was a gift to us all.
Sam Harville will be missed by many, many people.
Thank you Sam, for all the lives of others you touched, and thank you for your devoted and selfless service to our country during WWII.
Much thanks, love and respect always, from UDC Daughters everywhere.

Uncle Sam, your humor and quick wit will always be with me. You always knew how to cheer someone up, no matter what no matter what was happening. You are still cheering me up, because I have those wonderful memories. Your nephew, Clark
