Deborah Lontchar Obituary

Lontchar, Deborah "Debbie"
92, of Chandler AZ, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2011. Deborah was born April 16, 1919 in Akron, Ohio. She was the second oldest of five children born to Mildred and William Chudanov. Debbie married Michael Lontchar and moved to Arizona in 1945. She was employed at Goodyear working on Blimps. They were blessed with a son and daughter. When her children were older, Debbie worked at Goldwater's in the Millenary Department, and with Designers ordering Bed spreads and Draperies at Mayo's Home Furnishings and Bruener's. Debbie was an active member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church for over 30 years and helped organize the Circle of Serbian Sisters. She also was an original devoted choir member. Deborah and her husband loved to sing and share the Steven Hristich Choir music with others. Deborah is now reunited with her dear husband Michael B. Lontchar. Deborah is survived by her two children David Lontchar (Mary), and Lisa Hopkins (Lee), Brother Lew (Dorothy), Grandchildren Dustin Normandin, Tricia Webber(Adam), Rachel McCreight (Kris), Greg Lontchar, great-grandchildren Aubri, Lily, Gracy, Devan, and one on the way. Visitation will be Friday, April 29, from 5pm to 8pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ, a prayer service will be held at 6:30pm. Service will be held Saturday, April 30, at 3:00pm at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 4436 E. McKinley, Phoenix, AZ. Entombment will
follow at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ 85009. Memorials may be made to "Stevan Hristich Choir," 4436 E. McKinley, Phoenix, AZ 85008.

My prayers are with you and your families during your loss, Kuma Debbie was so good to Paul and I over the years, she had a heart of gold! She will be sadly missed....
