Billie Anne Weathers, 80, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at her home in Mesquite, NV. She was born January 12, 1931 in Phoenix, AZ to Alexander and Agnes Brookshire Ackel. Billie was raised and schooled in Phoenix along with her 6 siblings. She moved to Las Vegas, NV in June, 1969 with her 5 children. She went to work at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in December 1969 and retired in January, 1997 from the Microfilm Bureau. Billie Anne was a beautiful woman, with the greatest, most infectious laugh, and wonderfully warm, caring brown eyes. She was so loving, trusting, and always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. She was a true sports fanatic and for many years was a coordinator and participant for the LVMPD Lawman's Bowling League. She was also an avid billiards league player for over 40 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons, David M. and Matthew G Suiter of Oregon, Steven Suiter of Hawaii, daughters Candy Brabant of AZ and Susan Whitney of NV. Sisters, Dolores Golightly and Gloria Elias of AZ and Adria Sue Ackel of CA. She leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Neal Weathers, brother Tony, and sisters Carolyn and RoseMarie. The Visitation is on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 4pm-6pm followed by the Rosary at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. MacDonald St, Mesa, AZ. The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 11am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mesa, AZ with interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery also in Mesa, AZ.
