Walter Martin Obituary

Martin, Walter L.
Born June 16, 1925 in Roff, OK. Passed away April 22, 2011. Survived by Frances, wife of 67 years; son, Barry; daughter, Vicki Harris (David); granddaughters, Deanna Duran (Ray) and Steffanie Harris; and great grandchildren Kyle and Bianca Duran. Walt served in World War II, U.S.Navy, Coronado Island, CA. After the Navy, Walt was an Automobile Dealer for 24 years with nine franchises including Nissan (Datsun). He served as Exalted Ruler of The Richmond Elks Lodge #1251. Retiring in 1989, he and his wife, Fran, traveled and divided their time between their homes in Maui, Monterey, and Scottsdale. Walt skippered many personally owned yachts. As an avid golfer, he played golf courses around the world. Then, one day, found his artistic ability and began painting on canvases between golf games. Walt will be missed by all but never forgotten. Prefer donation to Hospice of the Valley, 602-530-6900 in honor of Walter Martin and his struggle with mesothelioma. Services at Messinger Mortuary, 12065 N. Saguaro Blvd, Fountain Hills on Friday 4/29 @ 3:30 p.m.
